NEW website underway!

As a part of our extreme make-over, we are currently redesigning our website. Please be patient with us while we create a new and thrilling look for dane & dane. Expect lots and lots of photos and interesting tidbits coming soon!

In the meantime, you can stay updated with this journal of news and events.

NOTE: Your holiday cards are on their way out... We are waiting until after the Christmas holiday so that we don't ruin the surprise for all of you lucky dogs receiving pet portraits as gifts!

Olivia the Brave

An update for all of you concerned Olivia fans... Her surgery went very well yesterday and she is recovering quite nicely.

For those of you who don't know, Olivia had a condition which caused her bottom eye lids to curl in towards her eye. The problem is cyclical and has gotten increasingly worse since the summer. Finally yesterday morning, she went in to the "Animal Eye Clinic" is Seattle to get nipped and tucked. She has to wear this terrible elizabethan collar for more than 12 days, but she's a trooper, and is taking to it just fine (much to the dismay of our shins and all of our hallway walls).

Thank you all for your concerns and well wishes, she will be back and at'em in no time!

Dane & Dane Announces New Equine Portfolio!

Because of our limited time to get to know eachother on this little blog- you may not know that I am entirely horse crazy. Oh yeah... I've got it bad. (Even my dog resembles a small horse!)

In the new year dane & dane pet photography will include several wonderful Equine packages. These on location sittings will be primarily shot with film and will be versatile enough to accommodate the spirited thoroughbred racer as well as the old grouchy pony in the pasture (and every horse in between). I don't know why I haven't added this service sooner, I guess I was always so busy riding, I never took the time to document it all! In any case, I am very excited to premier my new Equine portfolio here on the website, check back often for updates.

I also plan to trek to the Parelli Natural Horsemanship seminar in May (hopefully to photograph Pat in action). I highly recommend that any of you horse people who are not familiar with natural horsemanship MAKE IT TO THIS SEMINAR! It will change your life (not to mention your relationship with your horse) Here's the dates/place... for more info visit the Parelli website

UPDATE for the future of Dane & Dane Photography

I apologize for the delay in communication, there has been much happening behind the doors at dane & dane. It is with a sigh of relief that we share with you the following information. Please join Amy and I in welcoming the wonderfully revived and positively bright future of dane & dane photography!

To our valued friends, community members & colleagues:

On December 1st, downtown Poulsbo's newest pet boutique will cease to promote and sell "High Maintenance Bitch" fashions and accessories. Due to ongoing disputes between the companies, Dane & Dane was forced to take legal action. As litigation is currently pending in the Kitsap County Superior Court, Poulsbo store owners Amy Spray and J. Nichole Smith are unable to comment on the specific reasons for the discontinuation of their relationship with HMB. Although still passionate about the girl-loves-dog concept and the flashy Pet Feather Boas and various other frivolous and feminine pet products, Spray and Smith have decided to shift their daily focus entirely to their flourishing pet portrait business.

Dane & Dane Photography will continue to thrive in the 219 Moe St. studio, but new "by appointment" hours of operation reflect renewed dedication to their photography business, which often requires travel. Specializing in fine art portraits of animals, Dane & Dane will continue to serve the Kitsap Peninsula while also satisfying requests from destinations state-wide and beyond. Additionally, the Dane & Dane Darkroom and Doggy Lounge will open January 2, 2006 across the hall in the former "Net Worlds" location. This branch of Dane & Dane boasts pet-related networking opportunities, meeting spaces, photography-related products and professional black and white and digital darkrooms for rent by the hour.

For a limited time, and in limited quantities, the HMB products formerly available at the Poulsbo location will be sold by appointment only or online at www.dane-dane.com, after January 5, 2005.
