Seattle Kennel Club Show

2006 Seattle Kennel Club Dog Show

Well this past weekend the Qwest Field Events Center was alive and teeming with well-groomed dogs and manicured bitches. The arenas were full with Conformation, Obedience Rally, Junior Showmanship and Agility along with demos by Police dogs and dancing dogs and herding dogs oh my! The colorful purple rows of "Meet the Breed" booths were like feasts for the inner puppy and the many vendors filled up the last bits of open space with tasty treats, handy gadgets and valuable dog-related info.

Some of my favorite sights at the show were in the Agility ring. The speed and accuracy of the dogs and their handlers boggles my mind! Check out a few of my favorite moments...

Another highlight of the weekend was the "Emerald City K-9 Freestyle Dancers". This delightful group of canine and human companions demonstrated dance, dressage, and heeling techniques to the beat of some pretty peppy numbers. Here's a look at them...

All in all, the show was a delight! I thoroughly enjoyed a weekend of all-breed entertainment. I look forward to next year's show with great anticipation. Feel free to visit the Seattle Kennel Club Gallery at Dane & Dane to see more photos from the show...Now to sign off a few more of my favorite new friends...
